Torp - OostduinkerkeResidentie Schröder bestaat uit 5 appartementen onder eenzelfde piramidale daklijn als de buurwoningen. Zo gaat het discreet op in de omgeving. Het is een kleinschalige en zeer gestileerde residentie, ontworpen door CAAN Architecten. Maar achter de gevel pakt het uit met een weloverwogen architectonische surplus. Een van de appartementen (in duplex vorm) werd vorm gegeven door de Interieur architecten Contekst. Voor ons als Rietveld is het steeds verrijkend om met een andere bril, de bril van een interieur architect, naar de invulling van onze appartemenen te kijken. Het verbreedt en verdiept ons eigen visie op wonen, inrichten en beleving.
Straightforward briefing
On the outskirts of the Flemish coastal town Koksijde, Contekst created a second home for the sweetest couple. Their briefing was quite straightforward: open kitchen, flexible spaces for when their kids visit, focus on the view and linking the two floors of the duplex apartment.

Classic, yet different.
Classic, yet different. The combination of bespoke finishes with design classics were the tools in achieving the design aesthetic. In collaboration with Atelier Franssens we created the ceramic claustra that ‘hides’ the entrance door. We designed a bespoke wire glass cabinet that combines perfectly with the Forme libre table by Charlotte Perriand for Cassina.
Bringing back the classics
Even in a contemporary appartement, the kitchen offers some classics as the fire pit in vale pink, the island in concrete.
Multi functional bedrooms and detailled bathrooms.
The stairs that connect the living area with the guestroom is prominently present in the design
The open plan bathrooms are dominated by the rythm of the rectangular tiles. The rounded corners soften the walls. The wash bassins are bespoke concrete pieces of furniture.
